Got a HP desktop PC here with a faulty case fan – one of these lovely ones that you can’t turn off the warning in the BIOS about the fan not spinning. So, I need a 90mm fan with a 3 pin motherboard connector – today. Don’t have one the right size. Have a look at a 90mm fan with a two pin cable – notice that it has a 3rd unused lump of solder with ‘s’ written beside it on the back of the fan – figure s stands for signal, solder the 3 pin cable up to it. The fan spins fine but doesn’t send the speed signal to the PC. Checked the cable with a multimeter – it’s all making contact. Try another fan the wrong size but with a 3 pin connector, and the speed control/signal works fine. Figure that even though the solder point on the back of the two cable fan is there supposedly for the signal, it doesn’t actually work.

Would that be the right assumption?

Well - the preliminary frames for it anyway.

I've got 30, day-old chicks ordered to arrive Sept 23rd, and I've got to get this coop done.

For the first few weeks they will be in the spare bedroom, as they will have to have constant monitoring and heat/food/water.

Here's the album of some pixs I had my grand daughter take today. On it you'll see me and my stepson, my wife and g-daughter.

The other guy whose sitting down is just the property caretaker, and he has the mental capacity of a 6-year old, so we only have him help lift and 'go-for' things.

ALBUM LINK (PICASA)

Here's one just of me for recognition for youse guys:: .

The weather's starting to change for Fall, although that doesn't happen here until Sept 22nd. We will more than likely get a lot of snow this year (sure!) and I've got to insulate and heat this coop for them until at least April.
