Just another nosy thread, The subject being How many extensions do you have installed under Firefox, and how many are good,or alternativly garbolishious.(and yes i just invenvented that word, I know because of my dictionary extension)
Anyhow, Im not big on bells and whistles,I have
Dictionary
Flashgot
Ad-block
Tabbrowser preferences.
Dictionary is self-explanitary, simply highlight a word, right click it and select search dictionary, Which opens up in a new tab. I rate it excellent cause I suk at spelling and compreeehenission.
Flashgot is a god-send, Finally giving us untergration wirh real download managers....and not just Flashget, Though why you would use anything else is just bizarre. And it also makes you wrong......HA.
Ad-block,...Annoying with its geela tabs on everything and editing the path inorder to block the server, Proximiton makes it redundent and works on any browser.
Tab-Browser preference, Nice idea but the shortcut it places on my tabs toolbar guts me, I already have a new tab button above it,Plus they have added a lock tab button in teh drop down menu and I now constantly find myself locking tabs instead of closing them.I could adapt but add that to the fact that the extra configuration options just aren't enough to make it a keeper.........

Most of mine are work related, although the weather forecast one is handy,
Web developer //needed for work
googlebar //needed for work but quite handy
PRGoogleBar // even more useful for work
Forecast fox // tells me the local weather
FlashGot //useful
Adblock // damn useful
I have quite a few extensions (http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/files/My_Firefox_Extensions.gif), I find all of them useful. One I havent loaded on yet i the bugmenot one.

A Google search will take you to them. Not all extensions are on Mozilla.org.

Since Firefox is my secondary browser the only extension I require is Tabbrowser Preferences.
A huge number of the Firefox extensions people have listed here are already available built-in to my default browser, Opera, plus a whole lot more neat and nifty tricks. Opera is also way more customisable than Firefox and the download still manages to be a whole megabyte smaller in size.
On top of that, on older slower computers Opera is way faster on the internet than Firefox as I have proven on my Win 98 PII 266 and other similar computers so I can't understand why more people don't use it.

Because unless you pay for it, theres a nice advertising across half the top.
Besides that, it IS a pretty good browser which should be supported by those who enjoy it enough.

I think Opera sounds like a womens TV show or mag, this is probally why men do not go for it. :D

"A huge number of the Firefox extensions people have listed here are already available built-in to my default browser, Opera, plus a whole lot more neat and nifty tricks."
Opera fans see Firefox as lacking. Firefox fans see Opera as bloated. It works both ways
"Opera is also way more customisable than Firefox and the download still manages to be a whole megabyte smaller in size."
Much more customisable... how many extensions and themes does Opera have in comparison with Firefox? I call customisable being able to add stuff later, rather than disabling features that I don't need.
"On top of that, on older slower computers Opera is way faster on the internet than Firefox as I have proven on my Win 98 PII 266 and other similar computers so I can't understand why more people don't use it."
And I've found Firefox to be faster on my old computer (AMD 166mhz PR, 32MB RAM, Windows ME). So one person on the intarweb is hardly universal condemnation.

I agree, I tried Opera and didn't like it. FF is great. Sorry Opera fans, sorry.

weather (sometimes it tells the truth)
g-mail (this is redundant because g-mail has pop3 access)
i think a horoscope extension to match the weather extension is needed.

I have so many extensions installed I don't want to undertake the typing task, is there any way of getting Firefox or whatever to put them into a list?

I am using MOOX build Firefox and always was quite slow to load initially, but all the extra extensions have not made any difference I don't think. I have an old comp too, PentPro200S true 32 bit machine made for NT.
MOOX from here:

I tried a MOOX build. Couldn't see any point in it =/

There is a version 1.0 specially optimised for PentPro so I got it, unfortunately he has not made one for version 1.0.1. I use version 1.0 standard FireFox on 98SE, dual booting, and the MOOX version seems faster and slicker on the same hardware although admittedly a different OS, 2KPro.

My Extentions:
Nice, eh? Firefox does everything I want it to without extensions. Apart from loading to slow, oh, and Orcon's crap service (worse than dialup now, 20 seconds to load PF1), but that's not Firefox's fault.
The feature I love the most (unsure if it's available in Win versions) if the abiliuty to right click a search box and say 'add keyword' This works for places like AllMusicGuide where you can simply define a custom search in opera as the string is like this:
amg.dll?a65dbvg6ad1v6a81v6as1v6a1vadv
