Hi there all I have reviewed sfdisk,cfdisk and fdisk what is the graphical one that you can use on a RH9 install. sfdisk sounds the best but also potentialy the most dangerous. Having used the -l option it has amazed me as to just how many different partition types you can have.

There's fips and Disk Druid too... IIRC, the RedHat installer uses Disk-Druid, or some sort of Front-End to it!

Try looking up parted and qtparted while you're at it!

And for variety you could look at the freeBSD technique. Thay make it simple ... there is only one partition for the OS, then you use another programme to make Disk Labels, so "partitioning" is a two level process.

http://qtparted.sourceforge.net/ looks as if it will be good once it is completed (graphical tool like Partition magic).

I have qtparted. I haven't used it yet but I intend to when I get Fedora and do the big reinstall thingy. Another PF1 user nz_liam has used this program sucessfully.

Here is a screenshot (http://sal.neoburn.net/imagef1/uploaded/qtparted.jpg) of what info it shows. As JohnD has mentioned, it is a linux clone of Partition Magic.
